If you are one of those people who couldn't live without Shailene Woodley and Theo James busting out of the screen at you as they fight Kate Winslet and others in the next Divergent movie, your prayers have been answered.

'Insurgent' Star Making Victoria's Secret Show Appearance Before Movie

Lionsgate revealed last week that the upcoming sequel in the Divergent franchise, Insurgent, would be getting the 3D treatment when it hit theaters next year, which is a new move from this year where the feature was only in 2D.

This seems to be a ploy by Lionsgate to try and boost the revenue from the series after it has taken a backseat to the massively popular Hunger Games franchise, but also did less at the box office than late season surprise, The Maze Runner.

By adding 3D to the choices for moviegoers, Lionsgate is hoping that the new, pricier format will help to boost ticket sales and make Insurgent more popular than its predecessor as it now has bigger challenges than the end of the Hunger Games series with even more young adult adaptations on the way.

Insurgent follows Tris (Woodley) as she searches for allies and answers in the dystopian ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris's family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them.

The film is directed by Robert Schwentke from a script by Brian Duffield and Akiva Goldsman. It also stars Jai Courtney, Naomi Watts, Ray Stevenson and Octavia Spencer.

Insurgent opens in theaters on March 20, 2015 with the first trailer expected to be released sometime around November 21 when Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is released.
