​Angie Harmon and Jason Sehorn have called it quits after a 13-year marriage. The couple announced their decision to separate over the weekend.

The former NFL star, 43, and the model-turned-actress, 42, got engaged during The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 1998 after he appeared from backstage and surprised her with a ring. The couple, who got married in 2001, also have three daughters together - Finley, 11, Avery, 9, and Emery, 5.

Could their long distance relationship be the reason for their separation? Harmon, who has been on TNT's Rizzoli & Isles since 2010, once spoke about filming in Los Angeles meanwhile her family lives far away in North Carolina.

"We don't get out Friday nights early enough to catch a flight home," she told Your Tango in 2011. "We sometimes meet in Texas, a 2½-hour flight for both of us. I miss my kids, so it's hard, but my children are so understanding."

The actress also revealed how she and Sehorn kept their marriage together at the time. "You have to be really considerate of each other, really kind to each other. It's a lot of work, really," she said.
