Mexico vs. Japan in the Men's soccer semi final takes place in the London 2012 Olympics on Tuesday. The football kick off is at 12 p.m. ET and can be watched online through live stream on NBC Olympics (link below).

The noon kick off comes live from Wembley stadium in West London with the winner of this semi final progressing to the gold medal final play off.

Mexico have been one of the favorites coming into the men's soccer at the Olympics and they have shown their class, easing their group stage and quarter finals.

Japan meanwhile have lit the Olympic soccer tournament alight by defeating world and European champions Spain in their opening game 1-0. That result shocked the tournament and Spain, who went on to other poor results, getting knocked out at the group stages.

If Mexico are to progress they will have to do what no side has yet done to Japan - that is score a goal against them. Japan has amazingly kept four clean sheets in the tournament so far and their well organized defense has looked formidable.

Japan last time out beat Egypt comfortably after the Egyptians were reduced to 10 men after 41 minutes. Japan won that encounter 3-0.

Mexico themselves have held a tight ship, and also did not concede a goal in the group stages, however that all changed in the quarter finals when they faced Senegal. Mexico looked to be cruising with a two goal lead, but suddenly were rocked as Senegal came back with two quick fire goals to make it 2-2 at full time.

It took extra time for Mexico to show their quality and superiority over the Senegal side and eventually won the tie 4-2 to make it through to today's game.
