Team USA gymnast Aly Raisman won the bronze medal on the Olympic balance beam on Tuesday after the team appealed the judges' decision.

Raisman had scored 14.9 in her routine but the U.S. team requested a review from the judges on her difficulty element.

As a result, the judges increased her score to 15.066, tying Catalina Ponor of Romania in third place.

But Raisman snatched the bronze because her execution was better, 8.766 compared to Ponor's 8.466 score.

Raisman was very happy after the judges' review while Ponor, who won the gold medal in 2004, looked shocked.

China's Deng Linlin snatched the gold from her compatriot Sui Lu winning by 0.1 points at the balance beam final.

Raisman and Jordyn Wieber are still aiming for a floor medal on the final day of artistic gymastics at the London Games 2012.
