Wendy Williams has dished about producing Lifetime's upcoming biopic, Aaliyah: Princess Of R&B, and confessed she did not support the movie initially.

The television talk show host spoke with Power 106's Big Boy's Neighborhood recently and spoke on why she had reservations in the biopic.

"I was not originally on board with this movie. If Lifetime is doing the Aaliyah movie, this is what we need to see.

"We need to see how she met R. Kelly, were they really love, and what does your daddy say when you're 15 and bring home a 28-year-old man? How does she meet up with Missy and Timbaland? I need to see all these stars."

She added that she would also want to see how Aaliyah moved on with music mogul Damon Dash when she split with R. Kelly. But she also revealed what fans and viewers will not see when tuning in to the much talked about movie.

"What we're not showing you is the tastelessness of a plane crash and we're not going into deep some of the things that would ruffle the families feathers."

Williams reassured fans by reminding them that the movie was inspired by a book penned by Chris Farley, who was at one point the music editor for the prestigious Time magazine.

As far as the actors playing Aaliyah (Alexandra Shipp) and R. Kelly (Clé Bennett) Williams said they are "spot on."

"The story is told from a gentleman who wrote the book, not in a scandalous way, but in a she's the princess of R&b at the time."
