The 1st of the 2 Women's Beach Volleyball Semifinals is currently underway between Walsh-Jennings & May-Treanor's Team USA and China. However, there is indeed a 2nd Team USA comprised of Jen Kessy and April Ross who will also compete in their respective matchup against the very tough team of Brazil later on in the day.  The latter two are most likely the American team you haven't heard of.

While both USA's are considered underdogs in their respective matchups, many are keeping their fingers cross for them to advance to a Team USA versus Team USA dream finals matchup.

Bleacher Report had some of the following to say regarding the 2012 London Games Women's Beach Volleyball Semifinals Matchups:

May-Treanor and Walsh will absolutely have their work cut out for them against the Chinese pairing of Xue Chen and Zhang Xi.  The experienced Americans must take a page out of Austria's book and serve at Chen exposing her passing weakness.

Unfortunately, this approach could turn out to be quite risky as it may have very well contributed to Austria's defeat.  Walsh and Xue are both 6 feet 3 inches, which will serve (no pun intended) to be quite the competition by the net.  However, that could be a problem for Walsh-Jennings because Xue is considered one of the most dominant forces up front.

Ross and Jessy will also have the cards stacked against them against Larissa Franca and Juliana Felisberta of Brazil, who have yet to lose a single set in their 2012 quest for the gold.  Another disadvantage that the two Americans also have is the experience factor, as they possess the least amount of time together out of any other team in competition.

Interesting to note, Franca and a different Brazilian teammate had previously been defeated in the quarterfinals of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, but Juliana has proved to be a force to be reckoned with.

Many are picking the Brazilians to take the whole tournament, but they just may have to take out two USA teams to do so.

While Walsh-Jennings and May Treanor's USA are currently underway against China, Ross and Jessy's USA will take on Brazil at 4PM EST.
