Her character is currently stuck in one of the most talked-about love quadrangles on daytime television, but fans may need to prepare to say their goodbyes to Hope Logan after Bold and the Beautiful star Kim Matula finishes out her contract with the show.

The show's official Twitter page announced that the actress, who portrayed the character since 2010, would be leaving the soap opera, though they did not say when her final episodes were scheduled to air (though they have already been filmed).

"We wish #KimMatula the best as she moves on to other opportunities. We love Kim & she will always be a part of the #BoldandBeautiful family," the official Twitter account informed fans Nov. 5. Matula confirmed her exit in an Instagram post Nov. 6, where she thanked her fans and co-stars for an amazing five years as the character.

"What can I say about today? I can officially confirm that I filmed my last scenes at The Bold and The Beautiful. For now. It was a day full of love and laughter and reminiscing about the past 5 years," she captioned a photo collage of herself and some of her co-stars. "I made the incredibly difficult decision not to resign my contract so that I could spread my wings as an actor and see what this big beautiful world has to offer. But I can never put into words just how amazing and inspiring this show has been. What a huge part of my life. I do not see this as a "goodbye" but more of a "see you later." Thank you for giving me an unforgettable 5 years as Hope Logan and thank you to every single viewer who sat side by side with me on this journey. Cheers to the next adventure!!"

According to We Love Soaps, Matula elected not to continue the role and renew her contract, prompting the announcement that she wouldn't continue. As of press time, no decision has been revealed about the fate of the character and whether or not she would be killed off or recast with a new actress.

If she were to be recast, she would be the second role on the show to continue on with a new actor in the past year. Former All My Children star Thorsten Kaye joined the show last December as a recast in the role of Ridge Forrester.

Regardless of Hope's fate on the show, it is clear that Matula will be missed by her co-stars. Both her on-screen longtime love interest, Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer), and her on-screen mother, Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan Forrester) tweeted their regrets that she would be leaving the show after the announcement was made.

"Hey guys. It's true, Kim has elected not to renew her contract with B&B. We're so sad to see her go, and yet thrilled to see her shine," Clifton tweeted.

"Lots of xoxo to my tv baby! I wish all the best with your new adventures! U r amazing person & actress!" Lang added.
