There was once a time when Nicki Minaj and Safaree Samuels were joined at the hip. Wherever she went, he followed and their relationship seemed to be a safe haven for Minaj, as she catapulted into new levels of success.

Did Nicki Damage Safaree's Car?

In March, they were rumored to be engaged but reportedly, things took a turn for the worse due to Safaree's jealousy of Minaj's growing career. After a few rumors of physical altercations, violent blowups and sublte Instagram jabs, reports of their split circled the blogosphere. Now, in a new song, Minaj may have confirmed what fans wondered all along, she and Safaree seem to have gone their separate ways. According to the lyrics of her new song, she even considered suicide during their split.

The new song, entitled "Bed of Lies" starts with Minaj rapping:

"You could never make eye contact/

Everything you got was based off of my contacts/

You a fraud, but I'mma remain icon-stat/

Balenciaga's on my boots with the python strap

You was caught up in the rush, and you was caught up in the thrill of it/

You was with me way before I hit a quarter mil' in it."

In the lyrics, the "Starships" rapper refers to the length of their relationship and seemingly takes jabs at Safaree for riding off of her coattails. The fame may have been too much for Samauels' to handle, as every time she won an award, he faded more into the background.

Then, in a shocking revelation, the 28-year-old confessed to thoughts of suicide in the new snippet of her song. She rapped,

"I was killin' it, man you got me poppin' pills in it/

I told Baby hit you, I said this dude buggin'/

Cause I was doing it for us, I told em f*ck the public/

Couldn't believe that I was home alone contemplating/

Overdosin', all the postin', no more toastin' over oceans/

They say you don't know what you got 'til it's gone/

They say that your darkest hour comes before your dawn/

But there was something I should've asked all along."

Though she has not addressed him lately, Samuels continues to promote Minaj's projects on his Twitter. According to a new song he shared, he's a rapper in his own right. But, he seems to still be a huge fan of all that Nicki has accomplished.

If the song is about Safaree, they may have patched things up since the time she recorded "Bed of Lies." Still, neither side has confirmed or denied a break up.
