CBS's The Big Bang Theory featured a pretty big scene during the latest episode in which Sheldon (Jim Parsons) told Amy (Mayim Bialik) that he loved her, but what happened after this moment?

Steven Molaro, showrunner on The Big Bang Theory, spoke with TVLine about the big "I love you" moment and revealed what likely happened next after the scene was over.

"I think it's safe to say she said it back after her panic attack subsided," Molaro speculated. "Several times. Made it her Facebook status and then proceeded to tell everyone and anyone who would listen."

At this point in the series, Sheldon and Amy's love story has gone pretty far, at least for their standards. Molaro admitted that he does not know what's next for them and suggested that the next big thing might just happen organically.

"That's tough to say. These characters are living, breathing people to me, so I try not to think of them in terms of a check list," he said, when asked what was next for Sheldon and Amy. "To be honest, we didn't even know the 'I love you' was going to happen until we were in the middle of figuring out the prom story. So I'd like to think there are even more milestones, beyond the bigger more obvious ones, that haven't even occurred to us yet."

As for any sort of sexual development between the two characters, Molaro said he has no idea when it will happen, though he admitted that "if we're sweating and scared of a scene, that's usually a good sign to do it."

If and when this happens, it will surely be one of the most memorable sequences in the sitcom's run.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
