Thanksgiving isn't even here yet, but One Direction fans are in luck. The band announced yesterday that they'll be airing their first-ever U.S. special, ONE DIRECTION: The TV Special on NBC Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. ET.

The tweet the boys sent out can be seen below. It led to Directioners happily freaking out.

The band is in partnership with NBCUniversal in support of the global launch for their soon-to-be released album FOUR.

The special that is airing on Dec. 23 has been deemed a "1D holiday special" so color us intrigued of what's to come.

In the past Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson have done various live streams and other appearances on late night TV shows and more so it'll be interesting to see them do an hour-long holiday special in the States.

The band's latest live stream, which can be watched below, went into details all about FOUR. Plus the band weighed in on rumors and more. Their holiday special is bound to be quite memorable. Maybe they'll have friends like Paul Rudd make an appearance since they go way back on SNL from last year (video can be seen below too).

Will you be tuning in to watch One Direction host their first-ever American TV special?
