Wendy Williams loves being on-camera. The ratings success of her talk show proves that her fans love to watch her too. But sometimes, she likes to get out of her popular "hot topics" chair and take a whirl in the directors' seat. Her production company, Wendy Williams Productions, partnered with super producer Debra Martin Chase to bring the Aaliyah movie to Lifetime. Now, with the premiere only days away on Nov. 15, Williams sat down to ask herself a few important questions in a new Lifetime segment.

Alexandra Shipp Talks Playing Aaliyah in New Exclusive

Wendy, the executive producer, told the talk show host version of herself, "I'm on camera enough... This gives me a chance to branch out. I like being behind the camera."

In between the behind the scenes shot and the interview space, clips of up and coming star Alexandra Shipp as Aaliyah flowed in and out. According to Williams, "You're going to be very impressed by her. She sings, she dances and you are going to see a lot of story line to people you are already familiar with."
