Filming for the second season of The Night Shift is underway.

Adam Rodriguez Joins 'The Night Shift' Season 2 Cast, Will New Trauma Surgeon Get Along With TC?

The NBC drama aired its initial eight episodes over the summer, and the cast is now working on the season 2 premiere back in Albuquerque.

"Start season TWO of The Nightshift tomorrow," tweeted actor Eoin Macken on Nov. 9. "Trembling with excitement to dress up again with [Jill Flint], [Brendan Fehr], and [JR Lemon]."

The premiere title is still under wraps, but the season 2 opener is penned by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah and will be directed by Eriq La Salle.

As Macken and his costars get back into the swing of things, the actors are remembering how technically difficult working on a medical drama can be.

"Completely forgot how hard it is to say lines whilst doing medical stuff at the same time & walk in the right direction," Macken tweeted on Tuesday.

In addition to last season's series regulars, The Night Shift will add Merle Dandridge as Gwen and Adam Rodriguez as Dr. Joey Chavez. The latter will play a trauma surgeon while Gwen will be a paramedic and Jordan's (Jill Flint) best friend.
