Aaron Hernandez, former tight end for the New England Patriots, is still spendiing time in jail as time awaits trail for the murder of Odin Lloyd.

Pre-Trial Date Set For November In Former NFL Player's Second Murder Case 

Despite the fact that Hernandez has yet to step foot on a football field since his arrested back in 2012, he still receiving support from some of the players in the league.

According to an article written from Sports World News on Monday, Maurkice and Mike Pouncey, former teammates of the Florida Gators, have taken a lot of heat for supporting Hernandez.

Before Monday nights game between the Pittsburg Steelers and Tennessee Titans, Maurkice said that people wrongly judge him and his brother.

"People judge us because of our tattoos and the way we party, but they aren't aware of the good things we do for our communities. All they see is the 'Free Hernandez' cap or that we're accused of beating someone up in a nightclub," Maurkice said.

Maurkice agrees that he has made choices that he is not proud of, and that is why he and his twin brother are now doing things the right way.

Heck yeah, I made some stupid mistakes. I think the biggest thing is to own up to those mistakes. I decided I was going to change things, and I believe people accepted it."

Maurkice says that he and his brother will not change their lifestyles to cater to the acceptance of others. He believes that both he and his brother are doing their jobs and taking care of their family.

Maurkice and his brother Mike are both members of the league. Maurkice is a center for the Steelers while his brother Mike is a center and guard for the Miami Dolphins.
