Even though Captain America and Iron Man will be at odds in the next movie, agents of Hydra will still be moving into place and will be putting on the finishing touches of a new evil plan. But what previous character is coming back to cause mayhem for Cap?

Could The Newest 'Captain America' Cast Member Play A Former Villain?

Variety tweeted last week that while Daniel Bruhl would be playing an important role in Captain America: Civil War, the main villain is still set to be Crossbones (played by Frank Grillo). The last we saw of that character, he was being taken away after being part of an explosion during a fight with Falcon at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.

Cinema Blend adds that if Bruhl does turn out to be Baron Zemo, it could mean that Crossbones will be working with him in Hydra and it could also signal the return of the Red Skull to the Marvel universe.

Newest Marvel Character Talks Inclusion & Mayhem In 'Captain America 3'

According to the site, in the comics, Crossbones is sent to observe Zemo's progress on a scientific breakthrough he's working on for HYDRA, which means that not only could Zemo be in play, but Red Skull (the person who sent Crossbones in the first place) could be coming back as well.

It has been rumored that Red Skull may make a return either with Hugo Weaving coming back, Bruhl taking over the role or mystery casting that we don't know yet.

Either way, it seems like Crossbones will be coming for Captain America and his team during the film and while he won't directly be apart of the feud between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, he will be causing mayhem during it.
