Bloomberg covered a Sony investor briefing on Tuesday and while most of dealt with their other properties, they did talk about the entertainment division and specifically Spider-Man. According to comments made by Chief Executive Officer Kazuo Hirai, it seems like they aren't giving up on the hero just yet.

Andrew Garfield Might Be In 'Sinister Six' To Help Boost Spider-Man Brand?

"Entertainment business is an extremely important part of Sony," he said. "While it may seem like electronics is Sony's main business and entertainment a sideline occupation, the entertainment business has been profitable for 18 straight years, delivering steady earnings."

With Sinister Six coming in 2016 and a female-led spin-off in 2017, it seems like Sony is willing to try and continue to promote their top superhero brand, but one has to wonder how much longer they will go with the hero.

Over the next three years, there is supposed to be three more movies with the final one being The Amazing Spider-Man 3, but if the other two films bomb, it could mean that they look at Marvel for a sale of the character.

As of now, it seems like the company is set on making whatever they have planned work.
