Back in April of this year, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were given the surprise of a lifetime when Anna Wintour asked the couple to grace the cover of Vogue's April Issue.

On Monday, just days after Kim's controversial Paper Magazine nude photos hit the web, the fashion editor opened up with the Metropolitan Museum of New York to talk about the controversial Vogue cover that also took over the Internet.

According to Us Weekly on Tuesday, during this conversation with former CNN journalist Alina Cho, Wintour said that her first the first celebrity she had ever chosen to put on the cover of Vogue was Madonna, and that too stirred a lot of controversy.

"Now she's part of the establishment. I think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful people on the cover, it would be a rather boring magazine! Nobody would talk about us."

She continued by saying "It's very important that people do talk about us." She also added that she hopes "another Kim Kardashian comes along this year."

Apparently some people that Wintour's comment was a backhanded compliment and the social media world has been buzzing.

Are Kim and Kanye going to fire back at the editor for her comments? Did Wintour suggest that both Kim and Kanye are "distasteful" individuals?

The drama is up in the air right now. But on a lighter note, watch as Kardashian teaches a television reporter how to balance a champagne glass on his rear end.
