Brazil and Germany pair up for the gold medal in the men's beach volleyball finals at 4 p.m. Eastern Time on Aug. 9.

During the semifinals, Brazil's Alison Cerutti and Emanuel Rego had a 2-0 victory over the Latvians and Germany's Julius Brink and Jonas Reckermann scored the same against the Netherlands team. 

The London Games is Cerutti's first Olympics though he has won big before, he was a champion of the 2011 World Championships. Rego has been to the Olympics many times, making a name for himself in the sport. He performed in the 1996, 2000 and every Olympics since then, becoming the first make to compete in every Olympic beach volleyball tournament.

Brink won the 2009 World Championships with Reckermann, their first season as a team. Though Rechermann played in the 2004 Olympics, he missed qualifying for the 2008 Games.

Brazil and America are the only two countries to win beach volleyball medals in the London Games. So far, the medals have been awarded to only the women's teams, with the U.S. having one gold and one silver, and Brazil receiving a bronze.

The finals game on Aug. 9 marks the last beach volleyball game of the 2012 Olympics, which officially ends on Aug. 12.
