Apollo Nida has spoken out for the first time since entering prison and the estranged husband of The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks certainly has lots to say.

Nida spoke in an interview set to be in the newest issue of InTouch Weekly and revealed that Parks has not filed for divorce, despite saying she plans to do so during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres last month.

Nida said Parks actually has made some steps toward keeping their family together.

"Yes, we've had problems- especially over the last year- but we've gotten on terms now where I can call her and it's cordial. I'm hopeful that we can stick things out."

Nida is currently serving an eight-year sentence. He pleaded guilty to his involvement in a major fraud scam earlier this year.

He added that Parks will be bringing their two sons, Ayden, 4, and 18-month old Dylan, up to visit their father - even after she vowed they would never see him in jail.

"There's a plan to get them up here," he said.

He went on to say that he is remorseful for his mistakes and plans to make it right.

"I know for a fact that when I get home, I will pick up the pieces."

Still, a rep for Parks is telling a different story when it comes to whether their marriage is coming to an end.

Steve Honig told the magazine, "The divorce is proceeding as planned. While Phaedra and the boys do speak with Apollo regularly, there have been absolutely no discussions about reconciling."
