They might be one of the most popular television families on the small screen right now, but they are also one of the most controversial as well. So far, over 75,000 people have signed a petition to cancel their show, 19 Kids & Counting, on the TLC network.

Are Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard Getting Their Own Spinoff Show As A Newlywed Couple?

According to Us Weekly on Thursday, many are protesting Michelle Duggar and a recorded robocall she made this past summer when she urged voters to repeal a law that would forbid owners and landlords from evicting and firing people based on their gender identity.

The petition, which is on Change.org, was started by Jim Wissick, stated that Duggar's words "reek of ignorance and fear mongering."

He wrote, "Just because someone is transgendered doesn't mean they are a child predator or a rapist. Transgender people - who are far more likely to be the victims of harassment and violence if forced to use a bathroom that is inconsistent with their gender identity or expression - deserve to have the ability to use the bathroom in peace and safety."

In Duggar's recording back in August, she said, "The Fayetteville City Council is voting on an ordinance this Tuesday night that would allow men - yes I said men - to use women's and girls' restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas, and other areas that are designated for females only. I don't believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls."

So far, Duggar hasn't made any public comments about the controversy, but she did post a Bible verse on her Facebook page that said, "We will always stand for truth and the values we hold dear without compromise, but we will do so in love and kindness - treating others well even if we don't agree with them and we will do so without hateful words."
