Katey Sagal, who plays Gemma on FX's Sons of Anarchy, admitted this week that the road to the end of the series is fraught with tears.

'Sons of Anarchy' Finale Won't Have 'A Dry Eye In The House'

Gemma's secret is finally out and Jax (Charlie Hunnam) now knows that she killed his wife Tara (Maggie Siff). As Sons of Anarchy heads into its final two episodes of the series, Sagal previewed that it probably won't be a happy ending, at least for Gemma.

Sagal told the New York Daily News this week that there will be "a lot of tears" and "unraveling" in the weeks to come.

"We're seeing her own conscience finally grabbing her," Sagal said, of Gemma. "With everything she's done before, she was able to compartmentalize. This one was just too much for her."

Talking about the ending of the Jax and Gemma saga, Sagal said that it was "very satisfying, for me and for Charlie."

Ultimately, Sagal believes that Sons of Anarchy will join the pantheon of great TV dramas like AMC's Mad Men. However, she admitted that at the end of the day, "It's entertainment. I think we succeeded as entertainment."

Sagal and company certainly have entertained the loyal Sons of Anarchy audience, allowing the show to be on the air for a full seven seasons. It remains to be seen if the show will conclude in a way that satisfies most of the audience (AMC's Breaking Bad) or if fans will be disappointed (Showtime's Dexter).

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
