There are only four episodes left of Parenthood so that means there's little time remaining for Joel and Julia to mend their relationship.

Erika Christensen Gets Engaged To Cyclist Cole Maness

Sam Jaeger, who plays Joel, revealed he and his television wife Erika Christensen will find a way to make things right between them.

"We hope as much as our viewers to that these two can work it out," he told Today.com.

Death On Parenthood Not A Good Idea For Show?

Their marriage went downhill after Julia confessed to kissing Ed last season. Although she attempted to salvage her relationship, Joel was hesitant and even confessed that their relationship wasn't working even before she engaged in the kiss. The father of their two children explained that he felt hurt by her displeasure of being a stay-at-home mom and revealed that he considered her kiss cheating.

Jaeger, 37, said he was shocked that fans were angry with his character rather than Christensen's. "I thought, 'Wait, hold on a second. I don't understand! Julia was the one who...'" he said.

As for the end of the NBC show, Jaeger said, "People will be sad. But I think it'll be so worthwhile when they get to the end."

He also explained that there probably won't be a need for a reunion show because he feels the ending won't make it necessary.

"It's such a colossal ending that I don't think we'll need to find out where people are down the road. We'll already have a sense," he said.
