Throughout his entire 40-year career, Bill Cosby has been a pillar of creativity, motivation, education, activism and making people laugh. As fans grew to know him as "America's dad" on his famous role as Cliff Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," he broke down barriers that laid the foundation for the Chris Rock's, Dave Chappelle's and Kevin Hart's to thrive, today. He singlehandedly saved various colleges from closing. He and his wife donate to charity and speak out against (whether the masses like it or not) corrupt issues within the community.

Before last week, when you looked up "Dad" in the dictionary, Bill Cosby's face could have appeared. Now, new allegations of sexual abuse from over 15 women have tainted his once-aspirational image forever and it hurts. It feels like an entire culture has been robbed of their imaginary childhood father.

Tiger Woods went through the same thing. Kobe Bryant lost a lot of fans over various allegations, too. But this stings a little more because at the end of the day, the man who has allegedly ruined dozens of lives also broke barriers for countless others to live theirs.

Wendy Williams Shares a Cosby Story of Her Own: "He Tried to Get Me Fired!"

1. You'll never look at re-runs of "The Cosby Show," the same.

Cliff Huxtable was not perfect, but on TV, he definitely was the closest thing to it. When your own parents would make you mad, the Huxtables seemed to be the best parents around. The family-centered show helped others make the right decisions when situations arose with the ones they loved and now, these allegations have the propensity to taint reruns for anyone who no longer believes in Cosby.

2. In mainstream media, this discredits almost everything he did.

Now, when people write or talk about Bill Cosby, they will most likely describe him as an alleged rapist instead of the first African American man to win an Emmy, whether the claims are proved or not.

3. His family has to go through this, too.

Cosby has children (four daughters) and a loving wife named Camille. Camille has been married to Bill since 1962 and has never left his side. This is certainly the worst coverage that Cosby's behavior has faced. The pain of staying out of the public eye or the pain of knowing that others could possibly pity you is a heartbreaking realization.

4. The women who spoke out have been through (and are about to go through) a lot.

At this point in the court of public opinion, Dr. Cosby has already been condemned. Still, regarding his legal standings, no actual charges have been brought against him. Everything is based off of the claims of the 15 women. If Cosby sexually abused them, the years of dealing with the traumatic experience has most likely created major strains in their personal lives that no person can change. And, if they are creating lies or hopping on the bandwagon to bring Cosby down, any person who would stoop that low needs mental help, too.

5. This will most likely be the last thing we remember about him.

At 77-years-old, Cosby was in talks to work on new projects with Netflix and NBC. Both have backed out since the allegations were made public. Cosby might not be able to work much more after this, as many are now afraid to associate themselves with his name. There is no telling what the future will hold for the comedian and activist, but right now, it's not looking too bright.
