It's a question that is laden with speculation, and one which will be answered quite soon.

The Doctor, his wife, and Raina (Ruth Negga) have all been revealed to have the ability to handle the obelisk, but their connection to each other remains a mystery. Skye (Chloe Bennet) is believed to posses her parent's abilities as well, giving her the power to carry the artifact, but Raina remains an outlier to the pattern.

While speaking with TV Guide, Bennet addressed a possible connection between the two characters.

"You'll find out that Skye and Raina have something in common - and it's not that they're brunettes," Bennet explained. "Some of our überfans think the two of them are aliens. Or maybe they're something else - something different and special. It's all leading to a reveal that's mother-effing crazy."

Could this reveal come when SHIELD reaches the alien city? Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team will reach the hidden metropolis during the series' fall finale, "...Ye Who Enter Here," and Raina will also pop up in the December episode. Coincidence?
