Doctor Who's Twelfth Doctor isn't going anywhere.

Will Clara Leave 'Doctor Who' At Christmas? Capaldi Confirmed For Season 9 Ahead Of Coleman

Well, asides from through time and space.

Peter Capaldi has no plans to regenerate anytime soon, according to Den of Geek, an announcement that comes as a relief to fans who like their Doctors a bit dangerous.

"If I did have an ambition it would be not to regenerate for a while," Capaldi said.

Although the job is all consuming and rather taxing, the Scotsman is having far too much fun to turn in his key to the TARDIS.

"I get to run up and down corridors, escape through ventilation shafts and fight Daleks," Capaldi said, although he did concede that sometimes his creativity runs low. "But it is every day for eight months and you can get tired; you keep trying to come up with ideas. And sometimes you run out of ideas."

Hopefully the Doctor will pack in some solid R&R over the hiatus. With the Christmas episode already in the bag, Capaldi still has a few months to go before filming picks up for season 9.
