The SHIELD traitor (Brett Dalton) recently joined forces with HYDRA's North American leader (Reed Diamond), and the ageless villain decided to pair him off with Skye's rage-prone father (Kyle MacLachlan). While the two seemed to be fairly unfamiliar with each other, Dalton isn't so sure the two haven't met before.

"I think I would leave that up to the audience," Dalton teased, according to Zap2It. "I think these are some really interesting observations that I don't think are off base. But I can only confirm and deny so much."

If the fans thought their meeting was laden with subtext, however, they will definitely correct.

"When we were shooting it, there is a lot that goes into it, and a lot of what happens is in the subtext," Dalton told Zap2It. "You get the transcript of what is actually being said ... but when it actually is played, you get all of these other things that are happening underneath."
