The first night of the finale pitted the remaining four pairs against each other, and Mota and Hough were the first to take the fall. Despite receiving a perfect 40 for their freestyle and a 36 for their jive, the duo proved to be the lowest scoring dancers of the evening.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson continued to dominate the rankings as they received perfect scores for both their jive and freestyle routines. Along with Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas, Ribeiro and Carson were quickly called safe.

Unfortunatly for Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy, they were trapped in the bottom two with Mota and Derek. With a 37-point samba and a 40-point freestyle, Parrish and Chmerkovskiy's scores are impressive, but they may not be enough to help them snag the Mirror Ball trophy.
