Between NBC's The Voice, Pizza Hut commercials, and his Christmas special country singer Blake Shelton has been slowly but surely taking over Los Angeles. Now it looks like his wife and fellow country artist, Miranda Lambert, is taking over a town all her own.

Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert's Latest Date Benefits Good Cause

The Somethin' Bad singer opened Redemption Ranch, a non-kill animal shelter funded by her MuttNatation foundation, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma on Saturday. This marks the star's third enterprise in Tishomingo, having already started her own B&B (The Ladysmith) and boutique store (The Pink Pistol) in the town.

According to the singer, there is something special about a small operation where she has complete control over what is going on. She prefers to know exactly what her efforts are accomplishing and that resources are being used to her satisfaction.

"What I like about it [MuttNation] is that my mom and I have control," Lambert told Rolling Stone on Monday. "It's a very small board. It's five girls and we know where every dime goes."

Lambert and her husband were glad to attend the grand opening of Redemption Ranch, which resulted in the adoption of 12 dogs.

"Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a person adopt a shelter dog," admitted Lambert to Rolling Stone. "The looks on both of their faces-the dog and the person-when you see that match happen, it just brings me such joy."

Recently, Lambert took part in the Great American Dog-A-Thon to benefit homeless animals. The event will air on Fox this Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
