In August, Delevingne was cast in the role of the mermaid in Pan. Days later, she posted a clip from the set of the film, which also stars Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara and Amanda Seyfried.

“Cara was really excited and saw this role as a ‘Daryl Hannah-esque in Splash’ part," a source told The Mirror. "She decided to prepare diligently and was taking tips from pals and going swimming so she would be convincing as a mermaid."

Earlier this year, Delevingne, who has found tons of success in modeling in recent years, revealed plans to focus on her acting career, and landed roles in films, such as Kids in Love, London Fields, Ugly Boy, Paper Towns and Tulip Fever.

According to The Mirror, Delevingne was super excited about her role, but slightly disappointed that her tail would be computer generated. “Cara had images of looking like the pretty mermaids in the last Peter Pan movie, Hook. But she still wants to give it her all and knows she’s bound to look amazing, real tail or not,” the source explained.

At the end of last year, Warner Bros. set a release date for June 26, 2015. However, early this year, the release date was pushed back to July 17, 2015.
