The country crooner recently said that his mother influenced his song "One Hell of an Amen," which is now on radio.

"I think I definitely get my soft side from my mother," the 29-year-old said, according to Taste of Country. "She's definitely an angel sent from above. How can that not rub off on a man? What can I say, I'm a mama's boy."

In 2011, he also told the publication that his song "Indiana's Angel" was written specifically for his mother.

"[It's] just talking about how strong of a woman she is," he said about the Modern Day Prodigal Son track. "You know she moved out of Indiana, moved down here with my dad, didn't really have any friends, made some friends and just pretty much ... My dad and her got divorced recently. And she's been pretty strong through the whole thing. I've kind of been there for her. The roles have kind of switched a little bit. But it just kind of talks about the angel she is."

Gilbert, who is currently on his Let It Ride Tour, recently announced his engagement to Amber Cochran, a schoolteacher from his hometown of Jefferson, Ga. The singer and Cochran plan to tie the knot next June.

"Amber is an amazing person and has inspired a lot of my songs from 'More Than Miles' to 'You Don't Know Her Like I Do' for the last 10 years," Gilbert recently told People. "I'm a blessed man to have her back in my life and can't wait to make her my wife."
