Mexico vs. Brazil in the men's soccer final at the London 2012 Olympics takes place on Saturday and promises to be an epic finale to the men's football tournament. The game kicks off at 10 a.m. ET and can be watched online through live stream (link provided below).

Brazil entered the Olympics as the hot favorites to take the gold medal in the men's soccer, but have struggled at times to fully convince throughout. They have struggled at times for fluency and have had some tight games; however, to be fair, at the times when things have not gone completely their way they have managed to come through - the sign of a champion team.

In Brazil's quarter final match against Honduras their gold medal prospects were severely tested, but they managed to get the result they needed to progress, as they had done in their tight games against Egypt and Belarus.

In their semi final match against South Korea many were wondering whether Brazil could fulfill their credentials as tournament favorites, however, the side rallied together to prove doubters wrong as they swept South Korea aside 3-0. On that evidence the Brazilian side may have peaked at the perfect time, giving their most convincing performance in the tournament to date.

However, the most successful South American football team in history will be up against an impressive Mexico side. The Mexicans had an amazing game in their semi final against Japan, and showed evidence that they will be serious challengers for the gold medal.

In that game Japan took an early lead in the 12th minute when Yuki Otsu scored a stunning early strike from long range. Mexico had their backs against the wall, as Japan had not conceded a single goal in the Olympic tournament until that point meaning Mexico would have to do what no other side had done just to pull level. However, the Mexican response was conclusive, and they they were the better side from that point onwards. Marco Fabian equalized and Oribe Peralta and Javier Cortes also scored to claim the 3-1 victory.

Brazil have never won the Olympic gold medal in the men's soccer tournament - a big hole in their footballing trophy cabinet, and they will be going all out to make history on Saturday.
