After giving the performance of a lifetime and taking home three awards at the AMA's this past Sunday, the group One Direction was quickly back on the road to attend the ARIA Awards on Wednesday night.

The pop boy band traveled from the U.S. to Sydney, Australia to attend the event but before the boys could get any rest of course they had to take a couple of selfies.

During the event, Liam Payne clearly wasn't in the selfie mood and it was totally written all over his face.

In the photos, the brown-eyed heartthrob seems to be as happy as can be, but the moment the camera dropped, so did his smile.

As Payne greeted fan after fan, the singer switched back and forth from a bright smile to the most aggravated frown.

Fans may think that this meme is the funniest thing to ever grace the Internet, but it doesn't seem like Payne really gets the joke. Payne definitely wasn't going out without a fight, so he took to social networking site Twitter to defend himself.

It's okay if Payne doesn't always like smiling because the songwriter is one of the most beloved boys around the world and he already knows how to take a selfie.
