The holidays are always hard following the death of a loved one, and this month actress Nicole Kidman and country star Keith Urban are "holding tight to each other."

Kidman lost her father, Dr. Antony Kidman, in September and noted in the Daily Mail on Wednesday that her husband has been a huge comfort during this time.

"We've had some terrible things happen this year in our family," she said. "So we'll be holding tight to each other. That's all you can do at Christmas. Hold tight to each other."

Married for nearly a decade, Nicole claimed that one of the reasons her relationship with Urban has been so successful is because they met when they were a little older.

"We've been married eight years and together nine," she explained. "We work really hard to keep a relationship alive and to keep it incredibly deep and intimate… There are incredible possibilities for love in the latter years. I sound like some old woman. Like a grandmother. Anyway, it's good and I'm grateful."

Nicole and Urban have two daughters together, six-year-old Sunday Rose and four-year-old Faith Margaret. "If I could I would have four more," insisted Nicole, which is something she's admitted to on a number of occasions. While she would always be thrilled to discover she is pregnant, the actress and her husband have no formal plans to expand their family at this time.
