The storyline involving one of the most epic love triangles in soap history will wrap up sooner than expected on The Bold and the Beautiful, as Kim Matula's final episodes as Hope Logan are set to air sooner than previously believed.

Kim Matula Leaving 'The Bold and the Beautiful'

The actress' last scenes as Hope Logan are expected to air on Friday, Dec. 12, meaning the next two weeks of episodes are the last fans will see of the character, and Matula, until the role is either recast or the actress makes a decision to eventually return to the soap.

Matula announced she would not be returning to the soap after five years working on it earlier this month, sharing a heartfelt Instagram post with her fans where she said she wanted to spread her wings as an actress, which led to the difficult decision to leave the show behind.

Four Actresses Who Could Replace Kim Matula As Hope Logan

"What can I say about today? I can officially confirm that I filmed my last scenes at the Bold and the Beautiful . For now. It was a day full of love and laughter and reminiscing about the past 5 years. I made the incredibly difficult decision not to resign my contract so that I could spread my wings as an actor and see what this big beautiful world has to offer. But I can never put into words just how amazing and inspiring this show has been. What a huge part of my life. I do not see this as a 'goodbye' but more of a 'see you later.' Thank you for giving me an unforgettable 5 years as Hope Logan and thank you to every single viewer who sat side by side with m on this journey. Cheers to the next adventure!!" she captioned a photo collage of herself with some of her fellow cast members.

It is unclear just how the character of Hope Logan will exit the canvas, as she is currently married to her husband Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and expecting his baby, and dealing with her lingering feelings for ex-fiance Liam (Scott Clifton).

Matula has been keeping busy since leaving the show, completing two film projects this year-Dawn Patrol (set to be released in February 2015), and another film titled Maybe Someday. She is also currently working on a short film, Broken Strings, according to her IMDB page.
