While heroes like Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Cyborg are getting the feature film treatment, Warner Bros./DC Comics may have another team on their hands from one of the better working directors today.

Jude Law Among Actors Being Eyed To Play Braniac In 'Justice League'

Forbes reported on Tuesday that writer/director Guillermo Del Toro has completed the script for Justice League Dark, the comic book series that combines the talents of heroes such as Swamp Thing, Hellblazer's John Constantine, and Zatanna.

According to the site, the script, which has been titled Dark Universe, has gone to Warner Bros. for evaluation and is still in very early steps in the process.

What Does Jared Leto Have To Say About Possibly Playing The Joker?

While DC has set a slate of films until 2020, this project has been one that is thought to be in development for a long time, but could stay that way judging from the schedule that Del Toro is planning in the next few years.

Right now, he just finished up work on Crimson Peak, which stars Jessica Chastain and Tom Hiddleston, and is headed into pre-production on Pacific Rim 2, which the director says will be a trilogy. He also has talked about making a small black-and-white film with John Hurt and adapting Of The Mountains of Madness.

With that schedule, it seems like Dark Universe may have to wait awhile for coming to life with the current DC schedule. It may be that Del Toro will have to pass it on to someone else to direct if Warner Bros. likes it, or maybe wait for a little longer to bring the project to life.

One of the characters, Constantine, is currently starring in his own NBC show.
