Sheeran revealed on Twitter early Tuesday morning that he had released a cover of Foy Vance's Make It Rain, which was going to be featured in Tuesday's episode of Sons of Anarchy.

"I released a brand new song today on iTunes," he tweeted to his millions of followers. "I did a cover of @foyvance for the penultimate sons of anarchy episode, I'm really proud of it".

The bluesy song captures the FX drama's raw yet epic feeling, with dramatic lyrics that relate to Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and his complicated family drama, particularly with Gemma (Katey Sagal):

"When the sins of my father / Weigh down in my soul / And the pain of my mother / Will not let me go," Sheeran begins in the song. The chorus features the singer pleading up to the sky to "make it rain."

The sparse, 6+ minute production will likely be featured in one of Sons of Anarchy's trademark montages during the episode, highlighting the plight of the various characters.

The song is currently available for purchase on iTunes, though you can also stream the full song here at MTV.com.

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
