After seven successful seasons, the series finale of TNT's highest rated drama "The Closer" starring Kyra Sedgwick will air tonight.

The finale is the last of six additional episodes added to the season that normally airs 15.

Sedgwick sat down with Huffington Post for a behind-the-scenes video interview from the set of the show. "We'll miss you watching us. We thank you for coming along" she said. "I certainly think that this last season, these last six episodes, the journey is right. The ending is right."

Sedgwick played Brenda Leigh Johnson, the Deputy Chief in the Los Angeles Police Department.

Johnson was nicknamed "The Closer" because of her experience with interrogation. After she helped solve a case, Johnson would get confessions out of suspects that would help lead the arrest to convictions. She often used cunning psychological tactics including deceit when necessary.

Sedgwick has won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her role as Deputy Chief Johnson. She has been nominated for each award five times.

"The Closer" was created by James Duff and the Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Some of the characters from "The Closer" will appear in the show's spin-off series "Major Crimes."

"Major Crimes" will air in the next hour following the final episode of "The Closer" on TNT. Sedgwick's co-star Mary McDonnell will appear in the spin-off as Captain Sharon Raydor.

The series finale of the "The Closer" airs tonight at 9pm ET on TNT.
