The internet went abuzz last week when one of the actresses behind Frozen all but confirmed a sequel was on the way. But it seems like she may have spoken too soon and bad news could be coming.

Idina Menzel Says 'Frozen 2' Could Be Coming A Lot Sooner Than We Thought

In an interview on Monday with Today, Idina Menzel, who voices Elsa in the animated film, had to backtrack on comments she made the week before where she told reporters that a sequel to the hit Disney film was on the way.

"I have no idea," Menzel said. "I just assume that because it's so successful that that's what they're up to."

As for whether she would be involved in either the stage version that is being planned or the supposed sequel, it seemed like Menzel was happy to be included.

"Ah, yeah sure. ... Not the stage show - I don't know what will happen with that - but the movie hopefully. We'll see. I'm just going along for the ride," she said.

While her comments got many fans' hopes up, it seems like Disney is going to wait before moving forward with the brand. Right now, the merchandising is doing so well that having another movie doesn't seem like a necessity. That, and the fact that they can always make short films like the one coming out next year, puts Disney at a point of not needing to make another feature.

Even with clouds around the possibility of a sequel, fans will still be able to get their fix of Frozen as the movie hits Broadway soon and continues to rule Christmas lists all over.
