A premiere date for the newest episodes of TLC's Sister Wives has been revealed, giving fans an early gift to celebrate the holidays.

Will Season Six Of 'Sister Wives' Answer Some Vital Questions?

The show is scheduled to return with eight all-new episodes directly after the New Year begins, and the family will once again be forced to deal with the several trials and tribulations associated with a plural marriage lifestyle.

TLC released an official description of the season as follows:

Robyn Dispels The Pregnancy Rumors

"Kody and the Sister Wives-Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn-have settled into life in the cul-de-sac, but life is anything but easygoing for the family. The family prepares for two of their daughters, Mykelti and Madison, to graduate high school bringing a flurry of mixed emotions. And, the family bands together to deal with a potentially risky surgery involving their son Dayton. The sister wives are also presented with new business partnership opportunities that give rise to a serious discussion about their long-term goals. They weigh the pros and cons of opening up to the possibilities that lie ahead."

An official video clip for the new season also reveals a scene where Kody and Robyn work on expanding the sales of their My Sister Wife's Closet jewelry line to a local merchant and friend, Kathy, who has some fun with them in the process by joking that Kody should take on a fifth wife-either herself or her daughter.

"Well there's only one thing I see that's missing," Kathy says as Kody and Robyn present the display.

"What's that?" Kody asks.

"My picture, right there. Or my daughter, because she's so beautiful!" Kathy replies.

"This year, we're turning down anybody who wants to get married to me, and their daughters," Kody then jokes.

The clip then goes to an interview portion with Kody and Robyn, where Kody explains that he knows Kathy was joking, but the conversation still took a surprising turn that neither he or wife number four expected.

"She makes a joke about being in the family, and I'm like, 'We're turning down all wives, we're turning down all applications,' and she says, 'You're not who I want to marry.'"

Kathy herself then later reveals to TLC's cameras that she herself if a polygamist-but also a lesbian.

"I'm a polygamist. A lesbian polygamist," she says. "I have a few wives. I would love to have four wives, five wives."

Sister Wives returns with a special two-hour premiere episode Sunday, Jan. 4 at 9 p.m. on TLC.
