Dark Knight Rises Sequel: Joseph Gordon-Levitt To Play The Nightwing? Reasons And Rationale That Indicate It [SPOILERS]

With the way that Joseph Gordon-Levitt's John Blake character finished off in "Dark Knight Rises," many knowledgeable fans are now more than ever pushing for a Batman sequel. Numerous clues throughout Nolan's epic masterpiece support a future John Blake character transition and it is clearly hard to ignore his striking similarities to the infamous Nightwing.

According to Forbes, the following rationale supports a future Nightwing sequel:

Throughout the film, Blake appears decked out in black and blue attire; and guess who else dons those same colors? You got it, Nightwing. 

With both the Nightwing and Batman being almost identical in appearance, the franchise could easily pull off the movie to movie transition without even a glitch. Also, Blake would have probably never appeared in the bat cave at the end of the film just to exit in a Robin outfit. 

The timing of a Nightwing flick would make a lot of sense also, as it would act to bridge the time between the current "Dark Night Rises" and the upcoming Superman's "Man of Steel." It can also serve to tie the two DC Comic worlds together.

In the event of a sequel, it is very doubtful that Christopher Nolan would ever return to the director's chair for the highly successful Batman franchise yet again, it is still a great possibility that he'd be back as a producer/writer; much like he will be doing in "Man of Steel."

At this point, speculation is all that there is for a potential continuation of the trilogy. 

However, one can still dream a not too far-fetched reality.
