U.S. gymnast Gabby Douglas' hair had been an object of focus during her time winning golds at the 2012 London Olympics. However, the 16-year-old kept her hair chic with a simple ponytail for her interview on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Aug. 13. Leno interviewed Michelle Obama and Douglas during the Monday taping.

Gabby Douglas sat comfortably by the first lady for "The Tonight Show" interview. The gold medalist wore a gold, metallic skirt, with a black motorcycle jacket. Her hair was pushed back and she was all-smiles while answering questions regarding her time at the Olympics.

When Leno asked if the dream of winning a gold was different from the reality, Douglas answered, "I think it's very different, and when I mean 'different' it's in a better way. I mean, I never thought I would be doing the show with the first lady, or even you, Jay."

Douglas, first African American to win the Individual All-Around event in Olympic gymnastics, was also asked whether she will be returning for the Rio Olympics in 2016.

"Oh, definitely," she responded.

After Douglas' exciting wins at the Olympics, including gold in the team event, she and teammate Aly Raisman were able to meet Kate Middleton, Prince William's wife.
