After remaining mum on the touchy subject of son Sage Stallone's death, Sylvestor Stallone has finally spoken out.  While making an appearance on the "Today Show" on Aug. 14 in order to promote his upcoming "Expendables" sequel, the blockbuster actor was questioned by the media on the matter.

When a reporter had queried Stallone on just how he was "hanging in there" in regards to the seemingly abrupt passing of his 36 year-old son, he responded with the following statement, according to a TMZ Clip:

"It's tough it's very very tough.  But if you have good friends and your family's support, it's just something that's a horrible situation but ... hopefully it will heal and you try to get through it but it's something that is a reality in life."

Stallone also mentioned that his continuous promotion of the soon to be launched "Expendables 2" has indeed aided the grieving process.

"It's important to get back and try to start reliving your life; otherwise you can go into a spiral," he confessed, also according to the online gossip website.

Thirty-six- year-old Sage was found dead in his Los Angeles residence on July 13 due to an alleged overdose. Examiners think that he may have been deceased for three to four days.

The aspiring director was reported to have lived the life of a recluse, as he would spend days in his unkempt pad amidst beer cans, cigarette butts and food.

"Expendables 2" is set for release on the big screen on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012.
