Kristen Chenoweth will have to wait a little longer before getting back to her guest role on "The Good Wife," as she still hasn't fully recovered from an on-set injury she suffered July 11.

The Tony Award-winning actress released a statement Monday, regretfully saying she needed more time before she felt 100 percent: "It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to 'The Good Wife' at this time. Getting better slowly and thank you everyone for your concern."

TMZ originally reported the accident, and photos of the actress being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher raised concern among fans.

CBS, which airs legal drama "The Good Wife," clarified the incident in a statement following the accident.

"A gust of wind blew a lighting silk out of place, striking [Chenoweth]," the statement said. "All of us at the studio and the show are thinking about Kristen and wishing her a quick recovery."

A witness who spoke to TMZ recounted the accident dramatically, saying the Broadway star smacked her head on the concrete and was "knocked out cold."

"I thought she was dead at first," the source said.

Chenoweth will play a political reporter in a multi-episode arc on the fourth season of "The Good Wife." Despite being sidelined after her injury, she is expected to appear in the season premiere set for Sept. 30.

Chenoweth responded to a fan on Twitter Monday: "I love The Good Wife and will be back when I can. :)"
