One Direction heartthrob Zayn Malik has recently been in the headlines after rumors of substance abuse have taken over the Internet.

In November, after Malik failed to show up to an appearance on the Today Show, host Matt Lauer asked if the brown-haired bombshell was M.I.A because of drug abuse.

It's no secret that Malik's fans are worried about him,  and according to the TVNZ last Saturday, his band mates and his fiancée Perrie are too.

According to the site, a source close to Malik says that people close to the singer are very concerned about his well being.

"Zayn is stressed out and sick of his life being in the spotlight. He isn't sleeping well and seems exhausted," the source said. "They are about to go on another world tour and Perrie is worried about how he will cope. She has asked the other boys to keep an eye on him. They are concerned for him too and regularly let him know they are there to talk should he need them."

Last week, the One Direction official Twitter page announced that the boys would be embarking on a new tour in the UK and Ireland next year, so it's no secret that the 1D group will definitely be busy.

 "Zayn has always been uncomfortable with the whole fame thing, whereas the others seem to take it in their stride.'

The source also added that Malik doesn't like all the traveling because he's forced to spend time away from Perrie and the rest of his family.

It's unsure what's really going on with Malik, but it's safe to say that fans around the world hope he's doing well and they wish him the best.
