While the events of the last X-Men movie leave him in an odd place than ever before, it seems like some big changes could be on the way for Wolverine as the character goes to new ground in the next movie.

A New X-Men Character Could Join Deadpool & Wolverine In This Standalone Option

At the end of Days of Future Past, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) was left passed out and heading to a facility with William Stryker, who is the man that will put the adamantium in his claws. But is this the only thing that the character could have happen to him?

In the comics, Wolverine becomes Weapon X for the duration of the Age of Apocalypse storyline and with the character heading to a facility with Stryker, this could be the course of action that he is headed towards. It also could lead to him becoming a possibility for one of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen, which seems far-fetched, but could be the new life that Jackman was talking about with the role.

Oscar Isaac Believes This Character Will Return With Him To 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

Jackman talked to IGN at the premiere of Days of Future Past and seemed like he could go a little longer with the character after the clean slate opened up more possibilities.

"At one point, you're right, I said I was pretty sure [that 'Wolverine 3' would be my last outing in the role]. But I'm less sure as it goes along. Because after seeing this movie, the whole thing feels fresher to me than ever," he said.

"And during this movie...I don't want to spoil anything, but it's kind of like a clean slate, so who knows where it's going to go. As long as I have the passion for it and the fans will have me."

While Jackman probably doesn't know too much about Apocalypse at this point, making his character go rogue, and even bad, could be an interesting avenue to take in the next movie before he dives back into Wolverine 3.
