Austin Mahone admitted to making "mistakes" in a new interview.

Austin Mahone & Camila Cabello Call It Quits

On Tuesday, the 18-year-old singer appeared on The Today Show, where he promoted his new book, Just How It Happened: My Official Story, and spoke of his past mistakes.

“I mean, I’ve definitely made mistakes, but I feel like I wouldn’t really do anything over,” Austin said on TODAY on Tuesday, according to a report by Just Jared Jr. “I feel like everything happens for a reason and I feel like everything that’s happened has lead up to the point where I am today.”

Camila Cabello Gives Hint On Breakup With Austin Mahone

Mahone's Today Show appearance became controversial after his ex-girlfriend's group, Fifth Harmony, was unlisted from the show lineup. Following Mahone's breakup from Camila Cabello, Fifth Harmony was mysteriously removed from their "celebrity elves" appearance on the show, and replaced by Jennifer Nettles. Although Fifth Harmony did appear on set for a post-taped segment, the change appeared to be break-up related.

In November, after a few months of dating, Mahone and Cabello parted ways, with Cabello telling Ryan Seacrest, "Things happen," but giving no specific reason behind her and Mahone's split.

Weeks before the breakup, Mahone spoke highly of Cabello in an interview with Teen Vogue.

"She's an amazing girl, and we have the best time together," he said of his now-ex. "I wasn't looking for a relationship, but we became really good friends when we were on tour."
