Michael Phelps Girlfriend Megan Rossee Nowhere To Be Found As He Vacations In Maldives Island [PICS]

It has been reported that legendary Olympian Michael Phelps has taken a well-deserved vacation in the Maldives Island .  However, it turns out that the trip is allegedly an all guy venture, as the United States star was pictured relaxing with some of his closest male friends minus main squeeze Megan Rossee, according to the Daily Mail pictures.

It is alleged that the boys trip was the main reason that the 27 year-old had opted to hit the beach instead of staying for the closing ceremony festivities of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Although his aspiring L.A. model Rossee was nowhere to be found, it is indeed reported that the swimmer is absolutely smitten, according to Radar Online.

"Michael is like a puppy dog around Megan - he's completely in love with her," claimed a source close to the gossip site.

The newly confirmed couple had been dating on the down low for the past 6 months in order for Phelps to better focus on his swimming.  The couple was first seen together upon their exit from a London nightclub on Saturday Aug. 4^th at 4 A.M. during the Games.

Phelps has compiled an astounding 18 golds and 22 medals overall in Olympic competition.  Post-retirement, he has recently signed on to be a student on Golf Channel's "The Haney Project."  The original series will start filming in Sept. and is slated to air in Feb. 2013.
