Chandler has given a number of interviews lately with details here and there on what happened between Phelps and herself. Recently speaking to Daily Dot, she cleared something up on the intersex ordeal, saying that she was not born a male despite what the media said about that.

"If they wanted to report I was born and assigned the name David Roy Fitch, I could've lived with it," she said. "It wouldn't have been my favorite choice. But in this business, they're trying to get traffic, so I understand."

Chandler also revealed that she had not referred to herself as the girlfriend of Phelps, but it was the media who did. She also dished on how she and the swimmer met on the dating app Tinder.

"I recognized him, and I recognized where he was at [in his photo] because my dad's a jockey so I can recognize a grandstand instantly, but it was like, 'Okay, is this real?'" Chandler said. "Then one day I gave my number, and he started texting me, and once I had his number I ran it and it was Michael Phelps, so I was like 'I'll be damned.'"
