They had successfully escaped to Canada, but Franco (Roger Howarth) and Nina's (Michelle Stafford) evil plans to keep Ava's baby and pass it off as their own may come to an end on General Hospital.

Franco and Nina's Scheme Hits A Snag?

Following the boat captain ratting them out to the PCPD, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) has arrived with Canadian police to recover the infant-and Franco is now surrounded and possibly headed to prison.

"It's over Franco, hand over the baby," Dante says to him in a preview clip for the Friday, Dec. 12 episode.

Nathan Stuggles To Survive The Shooting

However, the police aren't the only ones who may have tracked the two kidnappers down, as Silas (Michael Easton), Ava (Maura West), Kiki (Kristen Aldersen) and Morgan's (Bryan Craig) chance encounter with Franco's adoptive mother Betsy (Karen Anderson) in New York may have brought them to the Canadian hideout as well.

"My baby?" Ava asks as she witnesses what appears to be the child in Franco's arms.

Meanwhile, Silas may be choosing to target his wife and get her to confess and give up plot, as he approaches a locked and closed door that she may be hiding behind.

"Open up," he says.

However, any success at recovering the baby could be averted, as Franco and Nina had become paranoid about being caught and were prepping to move once again-meaning Nina and the baby could already be gone.

However, even if the two are caught, it won't mean good things for Ava if Dante brings her in as well, since she is wanted for Connie's murder-meaning any potential reunion with her newborn daughter will be extremely short-lived.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
