In September it was announced that Tim McGraw and Faith Hill would be the recipients of the Harmony Award in Nashville, and on Saturday the pair attended the ceremony to accept their place in country music history.

The country singers, married now for 18 years, were at the Nashville Symphony on Saturday night to be honored for their sense of good will and harmony within the country music community.

According to The Tennessean, Hill sported her new short 'do and an elegant black dress, while McGraw wore a white bowtie with his black tux.

Most striking, however, was perhaps the fact that McGraw attended without his famous black hat, which has been a staple for the Meanwhile Back At Mama's singer for decades now. In fact, that very hat scored him a place in the 2015 Headwear Hall Of Fame earlier this month. While McGraw originally adopted the hat because he was self-conscious about his forehead, it seems time and age have made the singer more flexible.

In September The Tennessean revealed the details of the ceremony, which would include a performance from McGraw and Hill with the Nashville Symphony. As an invitation-only event, the ceremony also served to raise money for the symphony.

McGraw and Hill received the 30th Annual Harmony Award at the Symphony Ball at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville on Saturday, Dec. 13.
