With Mad Men finishing up its seventh and last season on AMC in 2015, actress Christina Hendricks already has her next series lined up.

'Mad Men' Star Says He's Not That Famous

The actress, known for playing the formidable Joan Harris on the AMC drama, will be trading in the ad agency office for a life on tour in the new Showtime comedy Roadies.

On Monday Deadline revealed that Hendricks has been cast as Shellie, the production manager for a successful rock band out on tour. The tough, emotional, and talented Shellie will work alongside the brilliant Bill, played by Luke Wilson.

Why 'Mad Men' Creator Might Not Be Having A Good Month

While Shellie and Joan seem to have a number of things in common, the shows couldn't be more different in terms of content, tone, and style. So far there network has only commissioned an hour-long pilot, but if it does well then Hendricks could spend the next decade on the network.

Hendricks will be the first of the leading Mad Men alum to move on to a new series, with many of the cast and crew pursuing big-screen projects now that they have finished production for the television series. Even creator Matthew Weiner, who made a name for himself writing for television, has moved to some film projects before deciding what his next move will be.

Production for Roadies is set to begin early on in 2015.

Mad Men will return on AMC to complete its seventh and final season in the spring of 2015.
